Born and raised in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), Saroj Chowdhury travelled around South India in search of work and inspiration. In Goa he met Shanti, a young orphaned Mapusa girl, they fell in love, married and now have a young son.

We are pleased to be stocking a fantastic range of Sheesham furniture at unbelievable prices! Forget John Lewis' £850 for a sideboard, we stock them at half the price!

We are also pleased to announce, a much larger range of Sheesham, and now Mangowood furniture too. We have catalogues printed in store to take away!Local delivery is free, and small fee for further afield to cover the cost of the van and fuel.
Walnut Crafts & Furniture

We also stock a lovely walnut range of furniture, from nests of tables to a 5 foot sideboard, all natuarally finnished with bee's wax and burnished to a high shine. We also stock a large range of walnut boxes, carved and non carved, standard lamps, trays bowls and even walnut elephants!

Carpets and Rugs

We stock a nice range of Carpets from new to around 50 years old. We have sourced them from Persia, North India, and we even have a few Afghan carpets. There are chainstitch rugs and runners in various sizes and shapes (just ask us!)
Cushion Covers

We also have a lovely range of cushion covers to compliment the carpets and rugs, From modern contemporary to traditional designs. We have chainstitch and woven cloth cushion covers.

Wooden Boxes & Sets

We have an extensive range of carved and other highly decorative jewellery boxes - large and small, cigarette cases, cigar boxes, small chests, secret boxes and other ornamental boxes. All of our boxes and chests are hand made, using locally available materials and include traditional and contemporary designs.
The production of wooden boxes has provided an excellent mainstay to the Indian handicraft industry throughout the years. Unique in their style, wooden handicrafts reflect the heritage of India. Exotic and practical, our wooden boxes make ideal gifts for people of all ages

We have a lovely range of carved elephants, in walnut, acacia , and ceramic hand painted elephants.
The elephant has its own very complex social structure, this huge wild animal has the strength to kill a man with a flick of its trunk or crush him to death underfoot, so why does this powerful creature humble itself to serve man? Trainers, known as mahouts, capture wild elephants and domesticate them
